Sparty Loves NYC

After a fun night in Philadelphia, I was off to NYC, accompanied by seven senior class officers.  I felt like quite the "Mom" making sure everyone had their train tickets and stayed together as a group throughout the city.  I also witnessed one of the officers experience riding on the NYC subway for the first time... I thought he was going to have a break down!  With having about two hours to kill in the city before the event, the officers and I took Sparty to visit some hot spots around the city.  Sparty, the senior class officers and I made stops at Times Square, had a chance to meet some NYPD and even made an impromptu visit to MTV studios.  One of the officers had a connection and made some "calls" to get us in.  We didn't get to meet anyone famous, but we were able to visit some offices and learn more about what things take place "behind the scenes" at MTV.

The NYC networking reception was hosted by Douglas Fisher '97.  Doug is a Real Estate Sales Agent for Prudential Douglas Elliman.  Similar to the Philadelphia reception, alumni and current students from New York City and surrounding areas had the opportunity to network and exchange business cards in a social environment.  Junior and senior students also were able to meet alumni and learn the value of alumni contacts in the job search process.  It provided a great opportunity for alumni to offer guidance and advice to students about life after YCP, while reconnecting with other alumni.

The next NYC alumni event will take place Sunday, March 21st when we present A Day with the NY Knicks.  For more information, click here.
